One of the primary hallmarks of Augustinian spirituality is that it is Trinitarian. The Trinity is perhaps the greatest of all the mysteries in the Church. St. Augustine’s writings go a long way to explain this deep mystery: “Therefore the Father and the Son together are one essence, and one greatness, and one truth, and one wisdom.” (“On the Trinity”, Book VII, Chapter 2.).
