As iron sharpens iron, so man sharpens his fellow man. (Proverbs 27:17)

It is an old saying…  and I use it to describe a group I recently joined: a Men’s Group at my parish. They recently held an open house to invite new men and membership went from 68 to 88.  We meet Wednesday mornings from 6:00 am to 7:00 am, in the Social Hall of the Church.  Think about that, 80+ men meeting at 6:00 am, once a week, to share a cup of coffee, a bagel, some prayers, faith in God, and a hunger to learn more about their religion; we have started a study of the book “What happens at Mass” by Father Jeremy Driscoll.

If you are a man and reading this, how is your prayer life? Do you think the fellowship of other men would help you to grow in prayer and in your faith? If so, consider joining or starting a Men’s prayer group at your parish, because you are probably not alone.
